This week’s episode is brought to you by being punched in the face and told you’re not good enough.
Episode #52 – Welcome to Pulse!
Now on Drive Thru RPG: the new Pulse contract “Vigilance!”
This week we gushed over the movie “Red Line,” for what is probably the third time, an amazingly stylish and violent space-race anime. And a brief nod to the in-progress movie adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s “The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents.”
With thanks to Sirius Beat for our intro music, “Future Club,” and outro music, “Tronicles.” Our fun, modular header art is by Absyfield , (Thank you Ashley!) and Whines is our audio engineer.

Pulse is a favorite of mine for that Individualism and how they encourage it. So I enjoyed this episode in particular, and how you guys expand on how that effects the citizens as a whole. I like that you guys dig into it, instead of glazing over the surface and get into the theology that, a more common low clearance person would have instead of the snap shot a person gets just looking from the outside.
I really enjoy thinking about what it would be like to live in each corp town and what people would be like at the common level.
Talking about what kinda movies they have was a fun thought, but I especially like the mention of concerts and how flashy they would be.
In addition I never really thought about PULSE as being, small. Perhaps due to the level of presence they have in spite of that. Since while they are fewer, everything about them is big and pronounced.
I also never really thought of Pulse as having programs that were to overshadow humans in the earlier history.
Over all I love how you guys dig into not only what is obviously mentioned, but also theorize what is not mentioned to fill the spaces in between.
Also that tid-bits that I had not read or recalled, like the digi teleportation, are really interesting. Along with the addition of fur culture sources, like other authors, events, movies ect, but always maintaining relevance to HSD and your discussions as to not be too distracting. The same goes to using real world examples to build on this fantastical environment.
I could go on quite a bit on this one, but this is pretty wordy already. Thank you guys for sharing, this has been pretty inspirational and this is easily my favorite podcast encountered to date. I’m looking forward to when I get to listen to the next episode on the corp towns.
Oh wow, thank you so much, Wolfy! It’s good to be able to bring a little bit of joy and expand on a world we like playing in 🙂
